A Reasonable and Managed Approach

Properly managing the residential and commercial growth of our county is one of the most important components of being a county commissioner. Kellie believes that growth can be accommodated but it must be at an appropriate rate and in the appropriate places.

While unregulated growth can have detrimental effects, growth that is properly managed creates jobs, new business opportunities, and a vibrant and healthy community for La Plata County.

As a result of Kellie's insight, she has in the past been selected as the Southwest Colorado representative to the Colorado Smart Growth Commission and has considerable experience understanding the dynamics of managing community growth.
